Dermapen Treatment & Results

Dermapen Frequently Asked Questions

What is Dermapen Treatment?

A new technology, Dermapen is a procedure that induces skin rejuvenation and remodeling through micro-needling. The Dermapen is a small device and is used to treat fine lines, acne scars, wrinkles and stretch marks. The Dermapen uses puncturing actions using disposable needles to provide effective and safe treatments.

How Does the Dermapen Work?

This treatment will involve the application of a hyaluronic acid solution and the Dermapen. The solution is applied to the treatment area, after which the Dermapen is moved over the area, creating thousands of microscopic holes. The automatic vibration function of the Dermapen increases the treatment effectiveness, as well as reducing discomfort and pain. The micro-injuries created by the Dermapen will stimulate natural healing and repair processes to create new elastin and collagen.

Are Dermapen Treatments Painful?

The pain levels from this procedure can differ for each patient, and are based on the individual’s pain tolerance, treatment areas, and other factors. For lighter treatments, it has been compared to a tickling sensation. For deeper treatments, a numbing cream can be applied to help dull any pain.

When Will I See Results?

The treatments create new collagen to affect the skin. The Dermapen’s full results are usually seen by patients within six to eight weeks, although results vary.

How Many Treatments are Required?

To receive optimal results, multiple sessions are recommended. However, you may see some results after a single session. Multiple sessions are generally required when there are deeper skin problems, such as acne scars or stretch marks.

What Topical Treatments are Used?

Depending on the condition being treated, hyaluronic acid, elastin and or/ collagen can be applied to your skin. These topical treatments effectively enhance the effectiveness of the Dermapen treatment.

What is the Post-Treatment Care?

You will be given post-treatment instructions. You should avoid exposure to the sun for approximately two weeks. These instructions will be tailored to your skin type, solution used, and the condition treated.
