MyEllevate Skin Tightening

MyEllevate Skin Tightening Procedures in St. Louis

Change is an important part of life, but when it comes to our skin, it can be distressing to see signs of change develop. Over time, collagen production naturally decreases in the human body. Collagen is important in maintaining skin elasticity and volume, meaning that as collagen levels drop, it’s common for skin to become less firm, smooth, and evenly toned as a result. For many patients, this shows up as fine lines and wrinkles or areas of the body where the skin begins to sag. For others, decreased collagen can result in changes in skin pigmentation, tone, and lack of overall skin smoothness. While these changes can affect the skin over the entire body, the areas where these changes are most noticeable tend to be on the face around the eyes, neck, and jawline.

While we can’t stop the passage of time, it is possible to take proactive steps towards increasing collagen levels the body produces and diminishing or removing the effects of fine lines and wrinkles. In the field of cosmetic treatment, this is most often done through a variety of skin tightening treatments. Patients considering skin tightening as a way of battling changes in complexion and skin tone should always turn to a certified and highly experienced professional in order to achieve safe, efficient, and effective results. At the St. Louis Laser Liposuction Center, Dr. Wright and his team have decades of dedicated customer care when it comes to cosmetic services and is proud to offer a wide portfolio of options for skin tightening.

MyEllevate Skin Tightening Treatment in St. Louis

Young patients with genetically poor jawline definition are not the only ones to benefit from MyEllevate. Many surgeons report that patients in their 40s and 50s are ideal MyEllevate candidates!

Dr. Chernoff has expanded the MyEllevate option to surgical patients. Specifically, he recommends MyEllevate to patients with poor neck skin elasticity who plan to have a traditional surgical face or neck lift. “Without good skin elasticity, we might get poor recoil of the skin when we surgically lift it. We use MyEllevate in those patients to give them better neck definition in conjunction with doing more of the deep plane lifting in the anterior face,” Dr. Chernoff shared.

He might also recommend MyEllevate to post-facelift and neck lift patients who want more jawline definition.

What is MyEllevate?

MyEllevate is a suture system, but it is not a traditional thread-lifting procedure. According to Dr. Chernoff, when inventing this surgical suture system, Beverly Hills, Calif.-based plastic surgeon Gregory Mueller, MD, specifically noted the problems related to gauging depth with suture systems of the past.

MyEllevate’s patented Light-Guided Surgical Suture System, or ICLED, allows surgeons to easily place a suture support system without incisions that immediately elevate and approximate underlying structures.

How Long Does a MyEllevate Procedure Last?

“Start to finish, I can do it in about 45 minutes,” Dr. Chernoff stated. In Dr. Chernoff’s experience, MyEllevate treatment has minimal risk, pain, and downtime. “The vast majority of my patients just take Tylenol, if that. In most cases, if I treat a patient on a Thursday or Friday, they are fine by Monday. Patients really like that aspect of the procedure.”

Facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon Gregory Chernoff, MD (Santa Rosa, Calif.), started out as a “nonbeliever” when devices and treatments first hit the market. Ultimately it is his patients that make him a believer, which is what happened with MyEllevate, the suture suspension system recently acquired by Cynosure (Westford, Mass.). His patients were so enthusiastic about MyEllevate, Dr. Chernoff expanded his use of this system. “Without exception, every one of my patients that have had MyEllevate really loves it,” he reported.

For those patients seeking a minimally invasive jawline procedure, MyEllevate fills the void in treatment options.

Am I a Candidate MyEllevate in St. Louis?

Young patients with genetically poor jawline definition are not the only patients to benefit from MyEllevate. Many surgeons report that patients in their 40s and 50s are ideal MyEllevate candidates. Dr. Chernoff has expanded the MyEllevate option to surgical patients. Specifically, he recommends MyEllevate to patients with poor neck skin elasticity who plan to have a traditional surgical face or neck lift.

Dr. Chernoff started using the suture suspension system as an option for patients between 25 and 40 years of age, who came in with a common complaint; they did not like the definition of their jawlines.

“They point to their submandibular glands, which often are low-lying and detract from the jawline’s definition,” he noted. MyEllevate is a very minimally invasive procedure that allows us to improve jawline definition dramatically and to lift up the submandibular glands if they are low-lying. The treatment enhances patients’ profiles. As one patient put it, ‘It made my face look like I lost 25 to 30 pounds.’”

As Dr. Chernoff explained, “If you just liposuction a patient’s neck, you have not addressed the gravitational descent of their neck muscles. Furthermore, I was always underwhelmed with what Kybella does for the neck. It was not just a one-and-done, and patients could be as swollen as a pelican swallowing a bird.”

Other Types of Skin Tightening Procedure in St Louis

Those who are looking to rejuvenate and comfortably tighten skin that has become lax due to sun exposure and decreased collagen levels may find Near Infrared Skin Tightening treatments to be highly effective. This type of service is sometimes referred to as the lunchtime lift due to the reputation it has gained for being an extremely quick and easy process. Over 30 minutes this outpatient procedure can be completed in the comfort of the attending physician’s office. The treatment area is massaged gently as Near Infrared energy is used to penetrate the collagen-producing level of the skin and regenerate cells.

There is no downtime associated with the procedure and at most, patients report a slight redness after treatment that generally disappears within a few hours. While some improvement can be seen after a single session, this is generally an approach that is recommended as a series of treatments for the most successful results. It’s effective for both men and women and can be used to target problematic areas on the face, neck and stomach. Near Infrared Skin Tightening has become highly popular amongst patients who have lost a significant amount of weight and are looking to tone, tighten and smooth strategic areas of the body.

Forma Skin Tightening

Forma is an innovative new approach to laser skin resurfacing in St Louis that takes advantage of the results delivered up through the use of Radiofrequency technology. Radiofrequency energy is able to painlessly target areas below the surface of the skin to promote natural collagen production and increase overall elasticity over time. The gentle nature of this procedure makes it a popular choice for patients following liposuction treatments. An added benefit of the Forma approach is that it is equally effective for men and women as well as all skin types. Forma is often a recommended approach amongst physicians treating patients who are looking for corrections around the abdomen and arms. While Forma is a good choice for larger areas of the body, a skilled physician can also use Forma around and under the eyes, on the jowls, and neck to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The majority of patients who elect Forma report slight redness following the procedure that disappears within hours of treatment. Beyond this, patients enjoy the freedom to return to daily activities immediately following services. The average series of Forma treatments follow a six-week plan where patients undergo one session a week. Those suffering from sensitive skin may be required to extend their treatment plan to provide ample time for skin rejuvenation between sessions.
